Two Children & Two Women Killed In Tragic Lancaster Crash
Four people were killed, including two children, in a crash involving a big rig and a car in Lancaster on Friday morning (6/4).
The crash was reported along a stretch of Avenue G spanning from 30th Street East to 20th Street East. Authorities say one woman was declared dead at the scene and one woman and two children were declared dead at the hospital.
According to the authorities, a woman and two children were taken to an area hospital where they were later pronounced dead, while another woman also involved in the accident was declared dead at the scene of the collision.
A fifth person was also taken to the hospital and is believed to be in critical condition at the moment.
The cause of the crash has not yet been established and is pending further investigation.
Authorities believe that speeding may have been a factor in Friday’s collision, as they have seen an increase in fatal crashes over the past week which they’re attributing to fewer drivers because of the pandemic and increased speeds as a result.
Antelope Valley authorities are reminding all drivers to maintain safe driving practices while traveling on the roads – especially if there is less traffic out.
